FDIC Insurance

The standard FDIC insurance amount is currently $250,000.00 per depositor. The $250,000.00 limit is permanent for certain retirement accounts (includes IRAs - Individual Retirement Accounts) and is temporary for all other deposit accounts through December 31, 2013. On January 1, 2014, the standard insurance limit will return to $100,000.00 per depositor for all deposit accounts except certain retirement accounts, which will remain at $250,000.00 per depositor.

The First National Bank of Dieterich is participating in the FDIC's Transaction Account Guarantee Program. Under that program, through December 31, 2010, all non interest-bearing transaction accounts are fully guaranteed by the FDIC for the entire amount in the account. Coverage under the Transaction Account Guarantee Program is in addition to and separate from the coverage available under the FDIC's general deposit insurance rules.

Official checks purchased at The First National Bank of Dieterich are not covered by the Transaction Account Guarantee Program, but are subject to normal FDIC Insurance coverage rules.
